Virtual Assistant Northants IAMVA are happy to announce that we have been selected as a finalist for the East Midlands England, VA of the Year 2021 awards! Thank you to all of our clients over the years we have been trading without you we wouldn’t be here today! 🙂
I am Virtual Assist Limited, one of only two registered cyber essentials certified virtual assistants on the government-held register within the UK.
Why did a virtual assistant in Northampton get cyber essentials certification?
- We wanted to work on government contracts so we needed to take security seriously.
- We want to ensure that all of our client data is secure and cyber essentials provided us with that peace of mind.
- New GDPR rules made us focus on how we process information, as it has most other reputable companies, we would hate to lose anyone’s sensitive data due to a security breach.
- We wanted to give peace of mind to our clients that we have taken cyber security seriously.
What have we done to gain this certification?
We have taken an extensive look at all of our network systems and IT equipment to ensure that it is safe and defended against common cyber crimes such as hacking, phishing or password guessing – hackers can do this will little skill.
So after some tough learning and simple tweaks to what we already do we gained certification!

How Virtual Assistants in Northampton roll….
I’m sat here on a Friday night catching up with everything because the business is growing fantastically! So much so we are employing new team members – to be introduced on the website soon. Due to this amazingly unexpected workload the blog is lacking! I have decided I can only afford the time to update once a month – I’m too busy helping clients and they definitely come first! – Andrea Monaghan 🙂 xx
Quote of the month:
“When building a team, I always search first for people who love to win. If I can’t find any of those, I look for people who hate to lose.” Ross Perot
So what have the last couple of months brought us?

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) comes into force on May 25. So, we’re setting up systems to ensure compliance.
GDPR seeks to improve the transparency and security of how an individual’s personal information is collected, stored and used, replacing the current 1998 Data Protection Act.
GDPR encompasses all businesses who deal with customers, clients or contractors who live in Europe, including the UK and will be law even after Brexit.
UK businesses must comply with these regulations or face substantial fines or potentially business owners may even face a prison sentence – Something else to keep us busy over the coming months for sure!
On that note we must say Happy Easter to all of our followers and hope you all have a great time over the holiday period!
